Seeds and Grains are two entities which are used interchangeably but have different meanings. Seeds are used for Multiplication while Grains are used for consumption.

Classes of seed 1. Breeder seed: Small pure quantity directly produced by the originating plant breeder or institution
2. Basic (Foundation) seed: The progeny of breeder seed or pre-basic seed
3. Certified seed: The Progeny of foundation seed.
